I believe that everyone deserves a real philosophical education — not a survey course, not an encyclopedia summary, but the experience of sitting with a great text and actually thinking about it.
I've been doing this for a long time and in a lot of different forms. I have a PhD in Philosophy and spent 20 years teaching at universities. I also have a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering, an M.A. in Applied Orthodox Theology, and a certification as a professional strength coach — so I've thought hard about what it means to build a life that holds together, not just a resume.
For the past six years I've led online Great Books seminars with hundreds of students. I write about philosophy, literature, and the examined life at Soulsteading on Substack. My wife and I live with our children, our chickens, and our cows.
